Erato succeeds the perfect double blow with his two big vocal recitals of the autumn (Jaroussky and DiDonato) ... Joyce DiDonato gives us an even more impressive masterpiece, because the specter of the state of mind is greater, between the most exacerbated exaggeration (grandiose aria left unpublished by Leonardo Leo), simple joy (in the chapter "Peace" ) and the most extreme affliction. It is in this latter register that In War and Peace touches on genius, notably in tracks 4, 6 and 7: "Lamento de Didon," Purcell's Indian Queen aria and Handel's "Lascia ch'io Pianga." Joyce DiDonato, more than shocking, is transfixing!

{Erato réussit le coup double parfait avec ses deux gros récitals vocaux de la rentrée (Jaroussky et DiDonato) … Joyce DiDonato nous livre un chef-d’oeuvre encore plus impressionnant, car le spectre des états d’âme est plus large, entre l’emportement le plus exacerbé (grandiose air inédit de Leonardo Leo), joie simple (au chapitre « Paix ») et affliction la plus extrême. C’est dans ce dernier registre qu’In War Peace touche au génie, notamment dans les plages 4, 6 et 7 : Lamento de Didon et air de l’Indian Queen de Purcell et le Lascia ch’io Pianga de Haendel. Joyce DiDonato, plus que bouleversante, y est pétrifiante !}
