We had a dress rehearsal for Magic Flute tonight. When the 3 spirits started singing "Bald prangt, den Morgen zu verkünden" I became aware for the very first time how deep these words go. They speak of earth becoming heaven once disbelief has vanished, reasoning has won and once Ruhe has come down from heaven and settled again in the heart of every human.
Mozart and Schickaneder have given us a recipe. That's how I found hope today. And I hope our audience in the upcoming shows will open their hearts to these words as well.
