I find peace amid chaos by giving myself the gift of time - time sitting in silence. I used to do so a little haphazardly, by myself, but in the past six months or so, I've begun asking loved ones and acquaintances "...what works for you?", that is, "...what keeps you from spiraling into the darkness of spirit that seems to be trying to gain the upper hand in our world?" That's why I was SO thrilled when Joyce asked the entire house (and, by extension, the world), "What gives you peace? I love it! And, as I began to say, I've been, in the last six months or so, sitting in silence with at least one other person. It's amazing how, not only does peace enter my heart, but it does so in a different, perhaps more expansive, way when another person or persons are involved. I feel this is essential and will be one of THE things that will, indeed, bring a newness of life into the world. It could become a movement that counters what we've seen (especially when it comes to what we've seen happen in the US) this last year. Thank you, dear Joyce DiDonato, for the work - the affirmation!
