I close my eyes, I breathe, and -- as if flipping through a handful of photos -- I see portraits of my loved ones. I look into their eyes, and I read in them 'it will be ok', at the same time I tell them the same. This is my way of connecting and remembering who I have in my life. I find peace through cherishing them. More recently, often feeling helpless against the turmoil of international affairs, I remember Emily Dickinson writing, 'If I can stop one heart from breaking or cool one pain I shall not live in vain.'
