I was in the audience last night at Barcelona's Liceu Opera House. I have been involved in music all my life, from being a choirboy, to teaching and conducting, and now in retirement as audience. Music is the key to peace; we come together, in orchestras, in choirs, in audiences to share. Perhaps it's the singing that's most important. How can we harm those we make music with? I worked with huge numbers of children in the UK, singing in big choral events, often songs expressing how children and their music-making are the key to the future of a peaceful world.

Congratulations, Joyce, on an amazing concert - your voice is inspirational. Let us all go on and share: a musical world is a peaceful world.

And so I ask you:
In the midst of chaos, how do you find peace?
